We need your help. We need a limited amount of your time so that we can continue to make democracy work in our community!

We are looking for new people to serve on our board and/or to help plan and put our programs into action. Our board has shrunk over the past few years as prior members left due to health, to work on political campaigns, or to pursue other projects. In the past, we always had members filling in the gaps, but this has not happened recently, and we are at a crucial point in our League's history. For the past few years, we have been operating with 3-4 open seats on our 7-member board.

What is at risk is the ability to continue our programs: Campaign School, Women's History Month Essay Contest, voter education, and our numerous candidate forums. Our League has good financial support from members and the community, and we do not have to do fundraisers. We spend all our time on voter services and education. However, four people cannot continue to do all the work the League has been doing.

Being a League board member or an active League member is fun, rewarding and valuable to the community. No other organization does what we do. Board members attend a 90 minute monthly meeting to plan activities, and then spend about 4-8 hours over the course of a month executing - making some phone calls, and sending emails. Active League members are also welcome to attend the monthly meetings, and are needed to assist with one or two of our programs over the course of the year.
